That’s the world we’re shaping. At Eduspace and the Children’s Business Fair, we believe entrepreneurship isn’t just for adults—it’s a mindset, and the earlier it’s nurtured, the stronger it grows.
We teach kids not only how to create businesses, but how to think like innovators, purpose-driven leaders, and global change makers.
The Children’s Business Fair was originally developed in 2007 by Acton Academy – an organisation based in Austin, Texas.
It is a one-day marketplace that gives young entrepreneurs (7-17) the opportunity to launch businesses, sell and earn their own money.
Children take their first step as entrepreneurs — and that’s where the magic begins.
What are your skills or areas of strength: This means your learned/natural abilities.
What problem/difficulty are you currently facing?
What have people told you you’re good at?: What do you love doing or hate to stop doing?
What do you or your Parents own?: E.g. a sewing machine, smoothie maker etc.
Come up with a business idea – the more original the idea, the better.

Sophie & Amelia worked together on creating a business called ‘Super Soaps’
The Children’s Business Fair was originally developed in 2007 by Acton Academy – an organisation based in Austin, Texas and founded by Jeff and Laura Sandefer. It is a one-day marketplace that gives young entrepreneurs (7-17) the opportunity to launch businesses, sell and earn their own money. Jeff and Laura give others (like us) the opportunity to host their own fairs.
Date: 30th July 2026 | Time: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Venue: Porchester Square, Festival Mall, Basingstoke, RG21 7LE
About 25/30 businesses will be accepted. You can sell originally created/upcycled items. We do not allow selling of hot food or 2nd hand items. Baked goods such as biscuits, cakes etc. are acceptable.
There is a £25 stand fee from all accepted businesses.
Yes, a Parent/Carer is required to attend at all times especially because young entrepreneurs are selling in a public space. Beyond this, as well as helping out with completing the application, participants are expected to do as much as possible by themselves. Participants should be responsible for set-up, customer interaction and sales.
Ready to give your child their first taste of business? Register their stand or get in touch about sponsoring the fair.
